Chemistry is the branch of science that studies the properties, composition, and interactions of matter. We will explore and learn chemistry through labs, group work, projects, practice, and problem solving. Students who are successful in chemistry are active participants, think about chemistry outside class, and come to class prepared. If you get behind, get help as quickly as possible to ensure your success.

Advanced/GT Chemistry is a first year chemistry course designed to meet the needs of the student who plans on continuing on to AP Chemistry or to a college chemistry class. This class is equivalent to the first semester of college chemistry. An Advanced Chemistry student uses math that is aligned to Algebra 2. Those who are enrolled in geometry will need extra tutorial help with math concepts covered in this course.

I have high expectations for all my students, but you must be willing to work hard to get the desired results. Grades are earned not awarded.
